LELO Sona 3 is the third generation of LELO’s SenSonic clitoral stimulator: an external-only device that delivers sonic waves rather than conventional vibration, now with Bluetooth app control and a new intensity-transition feature LELO calls SmoothRise. It joins the LELO Sona 2, the catalogue’s top sonic pick, and the wider-mouthed LELO Sila, and is the only one of the three for which LELO documents app connectivity.

Venus has not physically tested this product. This review is based on LELO’s official Sona 3 product page and its published specification block, checked on 12 October 2026. Where LELO does not document something clearly, this page says so rather than filling the gap.

Quick Verdict

Sona 3 is the pick for someone who wants LELO’s sonic stimulation with app control, for the two app-only modes or the Love Bridge remote feature. LELO’s documentation is complete: body-safe silicone over ABS, 112 x 51 x 55 mm, 128 g, a 520 mAh battery giving up to 2 hours of use from a 2-hour charge, a maximum noise level stated as under 60 dB, 100% waterproofing, twelve settings, and a 2-year warranty followed by a 10-year quality guarantee. The caveats are a 149 EUR list price, 40 EUR above the Sona 2, only ten of the twelve settings being available without the app, and a noise ceiling and runtime documented at the same figures as the previous generation. LELO’s page does not say the Sona 3 replaces the Sona 2.

Format and Who It Is For

Sona 3 is an external clitoral stimulator with a single contoured mouth that is placed on or beside the clitoris. LELO’s SenSonic technology emits sonic waves from the mouth rather than vibrating against the skin, which LELO describes as reaching internal portions of the clitoris without direct contact. SmoothRise is documented as letting the user move between intensity settings without sudden jumps, and the three-button interface is supplemented by the LELO app, which unlocks two further modes, Finish Me Off and Out Of Control, and provides the Love Bridge feature for remote control of a partner’s connected LELO device.

This format suits people who specifically want sonic rather than vibrating stimulation, value a compact waterproof body, and will actually use the app, whether for the extra modes or for partnered remote play. It is external-only: no insertable element, no dual stimulation, no G-spot arm. Buyers who do not want an app layer get ten on-device settings but should weigh the premium over the Sona 2. LELO’s own instructions advise slowing down if it feels too intense, so this is not the gentlest possible first device.

Documented Specifications

LELO’s specification block lists the material as body-safe silicone with ABS plastic and the finish as smooth. The size is 112 x 51 x 55 mm, the weight is 128 g, and the interface is three buttons. The frequency is given as 63 Hz, and the maximum noise level is stated as under 60 dB, recorded here as a 60 dB ceiling because LELO publishes an upper bound rather than a measured figure.

The battery is a Li-Ion 520 mAh cell at 3.7 V, charged in up to 2 hours at 5 V / 520 mA, giving up to 2 hours of user time and 90 days of standby. LELO’s highlights copy states twelve pleasure settings, ten on the device plus two unlocked through the app, recorded here as the patterns count. LELO does not publish a separate intensity-level count, mouth width, IP rating, automatic switch-off interval, Bluetooth version or app platform compatibility, so those remain not documented.

Materials, Waterproofing and Cleaning

LELO states the Sona 3 is 100% waterproof, suitable for the bath and shower, and describes the surface as super-soft silicone. Body-safe silicone is non-porous and appropriate for intimate use when cleaned correctly: rinse under running water with mild soap or a compatible toy cleaner, then dry fully before storing it in the supplied pouch. The mouth deserves particular attention, since lubricant can collect in the contoured opening and its ribbed inner surface. LELO states the product meets the ISO 3533 safety standard and ships with a USB-charging cord, satin storage pouch, warranty registration card and instruction manual. Water-based lubricant is the conservative default with silicone.

Battery and Warranty

Sona 3 is USB-rechargeable, with a charge of up to 2 hours giving up to 2 hours of use and 90 days of standby, the same figures LELO publishes for the Sona 2 and average for the catalogue. LELO documents a 2-year warranty from the purchase date, with a free replacement if a problem occurs in that period provided the receipt is kept, and separately states a 10-year quality guarantee once the base warranty expires. Buyers who want to rely on the extended guarantee should confirm the current registration terms on LELO’s warranty page before purchase.

In the Catalogue

Sona 3 vs. the Sona 2

The LELO Sona 2 is the catalogue’s top sonic pick at a 109 EUR list price, and on documented values the two are close: the same silicone and ABS build, 112 x 55 x 51 mm against 112 x 51 x 55 mm, 125 g against 128 g, the same 520 mAh battery, 2-hour charge, 2-hour user time, 63 Hz frequency, 60 dB noise ceiling and twelve settings. What the Sona 3 adds is documented app control, two app-only modes, Love Bridge and SmoothRise, for 40 EUR more. Buyers who want sonic stimulation without an app should keep the Sona 2 at the top of the list; buyers who want app or remote control are the Sona 3’s audience. LELO’s page does not present it as a replacement.

Sona 3 vs. the Sila and the air-pulse field

The LELO Sila is the wider-mouthed, gentler sonic sibling at 169 EUR, with 8 settings, a 105 g body and no published noise figure; the Sona 3 is cheaper, documents more, and is the more focused of the two, a split the Sona 2 vs. Sila comparison sets out for the previous generation. Against the air-pulse field, the Womanizer Premium 2 at 179 EUR documents a 4-hour runtime, 14 intensity levels and an IPX7 rating, and the Womanizer Next at 209 EUR adds a 5-year warranty; neither page states a noise figure or app control, so the Sona 3 is the cheapest of the four and the only one with documented app connectivity. The external stimulators across brands are ranked on the best air-pulse stimulators page.

Sona 3 among the LELO range

Within LELO, the Sona 3 is the app-connected entry in the sonic line. The LELO Enigma at 199 EUR pairs sonic clitoral technology with a G-spot arm for dual stimulation, the step up for anyone who wants an internal element. The full LELO line-up is on the LELO reviews hub.

Value Position

LELO’s own product page gives the Sona 3 a 149.00 EUR list price, in stock, with no discount applied at the time checked. That is the catalogue’s mid-to-upper band: above the Sona 2, below the Sila, the Enigma and both Womanizers. The case for it is specific: the only LELO sonic stimulator with documented app control, with the same complete specification block as the Sona 2. If app control and the two extra modes matter, the 40 EUR premium buys documented features; if not, the Sona 2 remains the better-value sonic pick. For the full ranking, see the best-of 2026 catalogue.
